Microsoft and VirnetX signed an amended settlement and license agreement on December 17 that settled their pending patent disputes, according to the press release announcing the deal.

This isn't the first time Microsoft tangled with VirnetX.

Microsoft paid VirnetX $200 million in 2010 as part of a networking-patent violation case.
